We build together a new course for peace.

Correnteza believes that one can build a conscious and capable school community by teaching Peace Education to educators, with effective tools to deal with and prevent violence, as well as encouraging students to be pacifists and global citizens.

Also through Peace Education, young people can strengthen and exercise their interpersonal abilities, at the same time that they get involved with and lead initiatives for social, political, economical and environmental issues. Peace Education supplies these youths with support and encouragement, so that they can act with the consciousness that they are global citizens.

How do we work?

Through projects, programs and consultancy, our goal is to promote the knowledge in Peace Education for educators and for youths. In order to develop those actions, we seek to work collaboratively with schools and Third Sector Organizations.

What is Correnteza?

Founded in November 2022, Correnteza is an initiative which recognizes peace not only as the absence of conflict or a state of quietness. We understand peace as the elimination of profound causes of every kind of violence: direct, structural and cultural, and the establishment of actions, institutions and systems which promote Social Justice and sustain the eradication of inequality, oppression and exploration.

The source of Correnteza

Correnteza is managed by two young women. Anaís is from Acre, Juliana is from São Paulo, and we met while getting our masters' in International Peace Studies in Japan. As the only Brazilians in class, we shared interests, frustrations, dreams, and realized we also shared the same goal: to expand the access to Peace Education in Brasil.
